Butcher took the Race 1 win having put in a great drive in difficult conditions, after torrential rain temporarily halted the meeting just before the race got underway. Although starting from pole, Michael Watton lost the lead to Butcher during the opening lap, but kept the championship leader honest while spending most of the race in a wall of spray.

At the flag only six-tenths was the margin between the two drivers, with Butcher celebrating his second win of the season. After a bad qualifying due to a tyre going down Morgan had some work to do, however another notable drive saw the 2013 champion battle his way through the pack to finish in third, setting the fastest lap in the process.

Dan Clowes had a good run to fourth and Kris Prosser looked good for a fifth place finish until spinning on the last corner. Although recovering and getting back on track Prosser’s mistake was Rob Sayell and Bryony King’s gain as they were promoted and finished fifth and sixth.

Much better weather and a dry track greeted the drivers for Race 2, and starting from pole Morgan controlled the race from the front and was rewarded with a ‘lights to flag’ victory. Watton gave chase but couldn’t close the gap enough on the leader and again had to settle for the runner up spot, this time ahead of Clowes. Clowes went one better in the second encounter to get himself onto the podium, all credit for a strong drive as he started in seventh. Sayell missed out on the podium steps by just over a second, but managed to hold off Bradley Hobday and King, who took her second sixth place finish of the weekend.
